What crazy weather we have been having. At Christmas time, it’s 50 degrees and then negative 18 degrees in February. Quite frankly, I can’t wait until summer or even spring when I can go hang out at the beach and be warm !!! Recently, I visited Seattle, Washington for my step-mom’s 70th birthday. (By the way, she looks 55—I hope I look that good at that age.) It was one of the few vacations I have taken all by myself without my family. While I love my family, it was a time that I really needed for myself to refocus and regroup. Because my goal was to refocus, I was determined to enjoy my time in Seattle. Nothing was going to damper my mood. Not my luggage being lost or my sister’s camera being lost or the fact that all us women were getting together for a long weekend. Now, don’t get me wrong—I love my sisters but after awhile there can be too much estrogen in the room. In fact, we said the weekend was an “estrogen festival.”
So back to the story...
all the sisters (there’s seven of us) gathered together as a surprise for my step-mom’s big birthday. As mentioned previously, my vacation started off with my luggage going to Maui (while Seattle was nice—I could have handled going to Maui). Fortunately, my luggage was returned the next day so I was able to change out of the previous days’ clothes—YEAH! My sister had a worse fate than mine—she lost her camera which had some great shots of all of our fun adventures. (We’re still hoping that someone will return it to her.) And to top it off— Seattle was a cool 50 degrees which ironically seemed quite warm in comparison to Michigan. (I still think that this surprise trip could have been in Cancun especially since it has been sooo cold in Michigan.) Honestly, we had a great time regardless of the few blips in the road. Plus, we did all the girly things—like shopping, and plays, and going out in downtown Seattle. It was so fun!!! Unfortunately, it’s time for a Reality check … I’m back in Michigan and it’s time to get back to work. The website that my team and have been working on is finally up and running—so go check it out soon! My new business cards are in. I am very pleased with them and things are moving in the right direction in all aspects. The market is slowly starting to turn but will probably take a little while to recover—but the future is looking bright… so bright I might even have to wear shades
